Withdrawing from a Class as a Dual Enrolled Student

Please read this important information about withdrawing from a class.

只有学生 can initiate a withdrawal per FERPA guidelines at post-secondary institutions.

The College recognizes there are many reasons influencing your decision to withdraw from a course during a term. Be aware that a withdrawal may affect:

(a) your high school grades and/or schedule;
(b) your high school graduation status;
(c) your eligibility to continue participation in the dual enrollment program;
(d) your 澳门新葡京博彩 standards of academic progress;
(e) any financial aid awards or other benefits you may expect to receive in the future; and
(f) your subsequent admission to another post-secondary college or university.

Since dual enrollment courses have an effect on both your high school records and your college transcripts, you must carefully decide if withdrawing from a course is the best course of action.

All courses attempted at 澳门新葡京博彩 will be included on your permanent college transcripts, including those that you withdraw from and all grades, 包括“W”  撤军, will be transmitted back to your high school for inclusion on your high school transcripts.

You must discuss how this withdrawal affects your high school grade point average with your high school counselor.  You may retake this class at Polk State while still in high school one time, after which you will not be allowed to repeat the class until you are graduated from high school.

Steps to Withdraw Local Dual Enrolled Students

1. Student requests a withdrawal form from a 澳门新葡京博彩 advisor or by emailing (Last Names A-M: Online建议A@波尔克.edu 或姓N-Z: Online建议Z@波尔克.edu)并完成.
2. Student submits the form to his/her high school counselor to discuss the withdrawal and how it will affect his/her high school schedule, grade point average and eligibility to continue in the dual enrollment program. A counselor must sign the form.
3. Student returns completed and signed form to a 澳门新葡京博彩 advisor prior to the published withdrawal deadline for the class.
4. Polk State advisor signs withdrawal form and sends it to the 入学 and Registrar’s office for processing.
5. Withdrawal is processed and a grade of “W” is posted to the student’s college transcript.

Steps to Withdraw for Florida Virtual School Student

1. Student requests a withdrawal form from a 澳门新葡京博彩 advisor or by emailing deregistration@波尔克.edu and student completes the form.
2. Student submits the form to his/her Florida Virtual High School counselor to discuss the withdrawal and how it will affect his/her high school schedule, grade point average and eligibility to continue in the dual enrollment program.
3. The counselor will sign and email the form to deregistration@波尔克.edu prior to the published withdrawal deadline in the 大学的日历.
4. Polk State advisor signs withdrawal form and sends it to the 入学 and Registrar’s office for processing.
5. Withdrawal is processed and a grade of W1 is posted to the student’s college transcript.
